Install, connect your AI, run your first prompt, and fix the common snags.
From AppSource (recommended): in Excel, go to the Home ribbon → Add-ins (or Insert → Get Add-ins), search for "EBITDAI", and click Add. You can also install straight from the Microsoft AppSource listing. Works in Excel on the web and desktop, on Windows and Mac.
Manual sideload: if your organization blocks the Office Store, an admin can sideload the add-in's manifest instead. Email joeorsi@ebitdai.co and we'll send the manifest file with sideload instructions for your setup.
Once installed, the EBITDAI pane opens from the ribbon. Sign up in the pane (free: free plan, no credit card) and you're ready to connect your AI.
Every plan comes with the AI, so there is nothing to connect. This section is for running on your own provider account. EBITDAI Pro ($15/month) connects your own key for every provider: DeepSeek, Moonshot (Kimi metered), Kimi Code and Gemini. Free and Lite run on Meta Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor and do not take your own key. DeepSeek and pay-as-you-go Kimi calls go straight from the add-in to the provider, while Kimi Code and Gemini cannot be called from a browser and pass through our stateless relay, which stores nothing. Either way the key is stored on your device, never on our servers.
New to API keys? Follow the step-by-step API key tutorial: exact buttons to click for Kimi Code, Kimi (metered), and DeepSeek, including how Kimi's two kinds of key differ.
Pay-per-token at DeepSeek's prices: a full model build costs a few cents. Zero markup from EBITDAI.
A Kimi Code subscription is $19/month flat. EBITDAI is currently the only Excel agent that runs on it. No subscription yet? A pay-as-you-go key from platform.moonshot.ai also works, select Kimi (pay-as-you-go) in the pane; details here.
Type plain English into the pane. Three good ways to see what the agent can do:
"Build a 3-statement model for a SaaS business with $2M ARR growing 40%"The agent lays out a linked income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement with SaaS revenue build and assumptions you can edit.
"Add a debt schedule"Adds a debt schedule to the open model, beginning balance, draws, amortization, interest, and wires interest expense into the statements.
"Clean up and format this sheet"Tidies an existing sheet: consistent number formats, headers, alignment, and structure, working directly on your cells.

Re-copy the key from your provider's console, platform.deepseek.com for DeepSeek or www.kimi.com/code/console for Kimi Code, and paste it into the add-in again. Stray spaces or a truncated copy are the usual cause. If it still fails, generate a fresh key in the console and use that.
You've used all 150 free requests for this week, and each one frees up again 7 days after you spent it. For way more usage, subscribe ($5/month on Lite or $15/month on Pro, 20% off annually) from inside the add-in or at ebitdai.co/pricing.
Refresh Excel (reload the browser tab in Excel on the web, or restart the app on desktop), then re-insert the add-in from the ribbon. If it still doesn't appear, remove and re-add it from the Add-ins menu.
Still stuck? EBITDAI is founder-run: email and you'll hear back within 1 business day.
